The Trade-off: Things Get Hot Here is the honest truth: these lamps heat up fast, but they run hot. If you put these in a cheap plastic housing or skimp on ventilation, the unit will warp. It’s just physics. That’s why we stick with aluminum heat sinks. They pull the heat away from the socket so your wiring doesn’t fry over time.
