
Stop Trying to Heat the Air in Your Changing Room
Ever stood in a drafty locker room or a bathroom changing area and felt like you were fighting a losing battle with a space heater? Here’s the problem: most heaters try to warm up the air. But in a room with open doors and constant drafts, that warm air just vanishes the second it’s created. You’re basically trying to heat the outdoors. We do things differently. We use short-wave infrared (IR) tech. Instead of messing with the air, these wall-mounted units beam heat directly onto you. It’s like stepping into a patch of sunlight on a cold day. You don’t wait for the room to get cozy; you just feel the warmth hit your skin instantly. How it actually works We use high-wattage quartz elements. The second you flip the switch, the filament hits its peak temperature in a blink. Because the wavelength is so short, the heat doesn’t linger in the air—it penetrates. You feel it immediately. No waiting. No shivering while the thermostat slowly climbs. Just instant heat. Built for the mess Bathrooms are tough on gear. Between the steam and the humidity, things tend to rust or short out. To stop that, we wrap the heating elements in hard-glass quartz tubes. This keeps the tungsten filament safe from oxidation. And we aren’t into “disposable” tech. We use snap-in connectors (mostly R7s), so if a tube finally gives out after a few thousand hours, you don’t have to rip the whole unit off the wall. You just pop the old one out, snap a new one in, and you’re back in business. A few things to keep in mind Now, there’s a catch. Since IR works on a “line-of-sight” basis, if something is blocking the beam, you won’t feel the heat. Placement is everything. You have to mount these at just the right angle so the heat hits the person’s torso, not the floor tiles. One more thing: these lamps gethot. Really hot. Make sure your walls can handle the temperature. If you’ve got cheap plastic trim or thin paint, you might end up with some scorched spots if you aren’t careful.
